Elec-Tec beat Dockers again

DOCKERS 1

ELEC-TEC 5

ELEC-TEC's last victory was also against Dockers in early January.

The 5-4 scoreline of that match might have been repeated here but for a couple of important saves by stand-in keeper John Beer and assured performances from centre-back pairing Bobby Brown and Steve Norman.

Back from hibernation', Norm started the move which brought the opening goal. His astute pass from the heart of defence allowed big Patty to flick on to Paul Eveleigh who calmly lobbed the advancing keeper.

Brown doubled the early lead with a free-kick which scuttled through a crowded goalmouth to evade the keeper.

It was almost 3-0 in the next minute, big Patty heading home in typical fashion but he had strayed offside at the beginning of the move.

Dockers were far from finished with the impressive Johnny Hill and the inimitable Wes James urging them on. Tec's game-plan included preventing Nogger from bringing the ball out of defence unchallenged as he had done in January.

It was left to Richard Ferguson to turn the clock back with some mazy dribbling and when he was tripped in the box, he reduced the arrears from the spot.

Next minute, Dockers broke away and a snapshot from Nunny set the tone as they went on to win comfortably.
