Delays to tunnel work
DWR Cymru Welsh Water says that planned investment work to help alleviate potential incidents of flooding in the Barry area is still on track to hit its completion target date - despite a delay in starting work.
The works, which require the temporary closure of the tunnel linking Weston Square and Cardiff Road, were due to start this week - but have now been put back by two months.
Work includes the laying of a large new sewer, and before the sewer can be constructed, major service diversions of gas, electricity and telecom need to be undertaken.
