Dinxsy tournament to help Lucia
In memory: David Dinxsy' Coombs.
In memory: David Dinxsy' Coombs.

A FOOTBALL tournament in memory of a Barry teenager will this year raise money for a Barry baby who suffers from a rare condition.

The fifth annual charity event remembering football-mad David Dinxsy' Coombs, who died in September 2003, aged 19, will see its proceeds go towards helping Lucia Holland, who suffers from flat head syndrome'.

The money will assist the family in buying a helmet that will hopefully correct the condition.

Seven-a-side teams - male, female, or mixed over the age of 16 - are invited to battle for the winning medals and David's Boot trophy.

David, a former pupil at Colcot Primary and Barry Comprehensive School, and Barry College student, was an ardent Manchester United fan who played football for the Vale and bagged sportsman of the year awards several times.

The annual tournament is held as near as possible to May 29, David's birthday.

Raffle tickets and refreshments will be on sale at this year's event at the Buttrills Field.

The tournament begins at 10am and each player will pay just £1 to enter.
