Hannah's fantastic effort!

THE Miss Universe UK competition held last week raised over £35,000 for charity - with the Barry finalist making a substantial contribution.

Hannah Pyecroft raised more than £1,000 for the Joshua foundation, which provides holidays and life experiences for children with terminal cancer.

She was congratulated along with the other finalists at the Miss Universe UK ceremony, held at Café de Paris in Leicester Square last week.

Hannah was one of the 39 finalists at the competition.

Each took part in three catwalk rounds in front of a panel of judges, which included Arsenal players Bacary Sagna and Justin Hoyte, and Big Brother's Kemal Shahin.

Although Hannah missed out on being crowned Miss Universe she enjoyed the event.

She said: "It was really good. We had loads of rehearsals and then did the three catwalks.

"It was a lot of fun. I would encourage anyone to take part next year."

Lisa Lazarus from Llanelli won the compeition, and will go on to represent the UK at the Miss Universe final in Vietnam.

Paula Abbandonato, PR Director of Vibe Models, said: "We are thrilled with our winner and delighted to have raised so much for charity at the same time."
